After our day in Midway, we drove to meet up with Kyle and Mike (Dustin ended up driving down with his wife and kids and he didn't have an interview like Brent made up for the anniversary surprise:).
We finally made it to Las Vegas where we stayed with Michelle and Ray. Her mom came to visit us in the morning before we left.
Once we got to California, we drove to the wrong town, then had to back track through the horrible California traffic, only to get to Jade's neighborhood unable to identify her house. So we followed the balloons that led to a back yard where a family was celebrating their son's 2 year old birthday. Oops! We finally made it to the right place where Brent met up with old friends.
This is the father of the bride who cooked an AMAZING BBQ of ribs, salmon, and veggies.
Here's the bride and groom to be! Jade and Chris Baird:)
The Oregon boys finally back together.
They were married in the San Diego temple.
Their theme was vintage, so hence the bow ties and suspenders. Brent was a groomsman and luckily knew how to tie a bow tie so he could do it for all the groomsmen and fathers.
We then went to a park (The Organ Park?) where the wedding party took pictures. Brent is the second one in from the right.
Before arriving to the reception and dinner, we decided to hit up the beach. We only had an hour, and just when we were walking up to our towels, a huge wave came and got to our towels before we could. So there we were, wet, sandy, and needing to leave to go to the reception. We decided to just get in the car and dry off on our drive there. Then we were hoping there would be a back door to the reception center where we could sneak in and change. Well, there was no back door and there was no small reception center, it was a huge villa! The road was so narrow that there were already some 50+ cars parked on one side with everyone walking to the reception dressed to the nines. And here we were, driving by for all of us to see me in a swimsuit, Brent and Kyle shirtless, and all of us sandy and totally not ready to walk into the reception/dinner. Luckily, down the road we found an empty lot where I changed in the car and the boys changed outside. Needless to say it was a miracle we made it and didn't look half as bad as we should have:)
Chris and Jade drove up in this awesome car while we were all enjoying our drinks.
It was a beautiful evening and Jade and her family did a ton of work to make it look so good.
We thought we'd check out the get-away-car:)
And of course, Brent thought we should use some of the decorations on the table to remind us that I still have the key to his heart. He can be so cute and cheesy sometimes, but it keeps me smiling:)
Congrats to Chris and Jade! They were married one day (and a year:) after us. Looks like August is a great month to get married!
