One Year Anniversary

Surprise!!! I thought we were going to California for Jade and Chris' wedding on Wednesday, but on our way to pick up Kyle whose car had supposedly broken down in Heber at the
"Johnson Brake and Tire". . .
I began to realize that we weren't in Heber anymore and were going into Midway. So I google mapped it and this is what came up in Springville!!! I was so confused and when I looked up,
Brent had pulled into the Johnson Mill.
Which is where we spent our first night of our honeymoon almost one year earlier.
I still didn't believe him that we were staying there for the night because he had convinced me that we were going to get Kyle, meet Dustin and Mike, drive to Las Vegas, spend the night with Michelle and Ray, then wake up tomorrow and finish our drive to California for Dustin's interview and Jade and Chris' wedding festivities. I wouldn't get out of the car until he finally called Kyle again and the conversation went like this:
Kyle: "He buddy, did you find me?"
Brent: "Yep, we're here."
Kyle: "Great. Thanks for coming to pick me up. See you tomorrow."

Brent then explained that he had shifted everything forward a day so that I would leave my internship a day early and we could celebrate our anniversary a few days premature before we went to California. So the plan that I knew of would start a day later after we had a fun night/day in Midway! So sweet!
We began by going to the Blue Boar for dinner. It was AMAZING!!!
Here are the fun things we got to eat.
We got to sit outside in the back. BEAUTIFUL!!! Kind of felt like Europe:)
The place was like a museum. It was designed by the owner of Adobe who decided he wanted a bit of Europe close by. He and his wife spent time in Europe going to antique auctions and find fun things to put in the bed and breakfast/restaurant. Here, Brent is standing in the bar which was an antique traveling chest from the 1400's.

This cross bow and many others on the wall were actually used back in the day during war times hundreds of years ago!
When we got back to the Johnson's Mill bed and breakfast, this was set out on our table in the room. It was the top of our wedding cake with 12 roses to celebrate 1 year and some sparkling cider. Too bad we were too full to eat much of it!

In the morning we woke up and went downstairs for a yummy breakfast.

They served us stuffed french toast. Delicious!

Then we went on a canoe ride around the pond by the mill.

Sadly, we had to leave the Johnson's Mill, but Brent still had more on the agenda for that afternoon.
We stopped at the Homestead and looked at the crater, had lunch at the Soldier Hollow golf course, then drove further into the canyon to then hike up to Cascades Springs. It was beautiful!
I love my husband and am so grateful to have him in my life. He is so thoughtful, romantic, and treats me so well. I love you Brent! Happy One-Year-Anniversary!
